The best part of my childhood was spent in the forests of the Ramapo Mountains in Northern New Jersey. We were allowed to roam freely in the woods. Today, those woods, fields and streams are deeply embedded in my memory.
Coming to California for college, I earned art/design degrees from Mills College and California College of the Arts. I worked in computers and commercial interior design before turning to painting full time.
Ten years ago I moved to the wine country from San Francisco. The change of scenery had a remarkable impact on my work. It felt like home. I suddenly found myself wanting to paint landscapes, especially nocturnes. Night or day, I am constantly inspired by the natural beauty of the fields, mountains and vineyards that surround us in the North Bay.
